My experience has taught me that every client and every family law issue is different. Some clients want to take an aggressive stance in all family law matters, challenging an ex-spouse at every turn. Others recognize that the marriage is over, but may want to foster a positive relationship, either for the sake of minor children or to simply minimize the negative effects of anger and bitterness.

Encouraging Family Law Mediation

I take the time to listen carefully and to get to know you, so that I can identify the strategy that will most effectively help you get where you want to go. I encourage my clients to use alternative means of dispute resolution, such as family law mediation, to amicably resolve family law differences. However, when necessary and appropriate, I will aggressively protect your interests in court. My approach is always dictated by what is in your best interests.

My Family law Practice

I handle a broad range of issues related to family law, including:

• Divorce. I handle all matters arising out of divorce, from child custody and visitation to child support, from alimony to property disputes.
• Separation agreements. I will help you prepare and execute a separation agreement that protects your rights regarding custody and visitation, support, and marital property issues.
• Modifications. If your divorce is final, but circumstances have changed, I can help you seek a new order that meets your needs.
• The division of marital property. I will work with you to equitably divide the assets of your marriage, including real property, investments and bank accounts, retirement assets and business interests.
• Child custody and support. I will help you fashion custody and visitation arrangements that promote the best interests of your children and give you a meaningful role in their growth and development. I will also examine all proposed child support orders for compliance with Maryland guidelines.

• Family law mediation. I will help you understand the benefits of family law mediation, as well as you rights in the process so that you can maximize your changes of using mediation to resolve family law differences.
